Retail & Shopping Center Cleaning in Dallas-Fort Worth

Craddock’s Cleaning Services provides retail store cleaning services for retail store managers, property managers, and shopping center owners across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, cleaning everything from single storefronts to strip centers and enclosed malls. We handle sales floors, restrooms, back-of-house areas, common areas, floors, and exterior touchpoints, with a supervisor inspecting and documenting the work the same night through CleanProof so you have a dated record of what was cleaned after each visit.

Retail isn’t one cleaning job. A store manager owns the inside of one location and gets judged on what a shopper sees in the first ten seconds, while a property manager owns the shared common areas and exterior of a multi-tenant center and has to defend that spend at Common Area Maintenance reconciliation. We clean for both, and the scope, schedule, and paperwork look different for each, including work planned around operating hours, holidays, peak traffic, and the health and safety requirements that reduce liability and keep the property presentation consistent.

This page shows what our retail cleaning covers, how cleaning schedules are built, how documentation and quality assurance work, which retail properties we serve, and where related services such as floor and window cleaning fit.

Retail cleaning service Scope

What Our Retail Cleaning Services Covers

Retail cleaning runs on the store’s clock, not the cleaner’s. Some of it happens overnight after close. A lot of it happens while the doors are open, because a shopping floor gets dirty fastest during the hours it’s full. Below is what we cover, grouped by the part of the property it belongs to.

Sales floor and customer-facing areas

The zones a shopper judges you by. We clean:

  • Entrance matting, vestibules, and glass storefronts and door glass
  • Door pulls, handrails, and other high-touch surfaces
  • Sales floor sweeping, dust mopping, auto-scrubbing, and vacuuming carpeted departments
  • Fixture, display, shelving, and endcap dusting
  • Fitting room mirrors, benches, and floors, held to a public-facing standard
  • Checkout counters, self-checkout kiosks, and conveyor belts
  • Cart and basket sanitizing

Torn or cracked upholstery gets flagged in the log, not wiped over. A split seam can’t be disinfected, and CDC guidance says to repair or replace it.

Restrooms

In retail the restroom user is a stranger, not an employee who tolerates a bad day. That’s why restrooms are the number-one source of shopper complaints, and why we hold them to a public benchmark. Fixture cleaning, dispenser restocking, touchpoint disinfection, tile and grout, and drain and odor control. On day-porter accounts we run restroom checks through peak hours instead of once in the morning.

Back of house

Stockrooms, receiving docks, employee break rooms and restrooms, and loading docks. The part customers never see but your staff live in. Keeping these areas clean helps employees stay focused on customer service and sales instead of cleanup.

Floor care

Retail carries more flooring types under one roof than almost any other property: VCT, polished and sealed concrete, terrazzo, LVT, ceramic and porcelain tile, natural stone, rubber, and commercial carpet. Each needs a different method. We handle strip-and-wax, burnishing, tile and grout, carpet hot-water extraction and encapsulation, entry-mat cleaning, and gum removal.

Common areas and food courts (multi-tenant centers)

Concourse or shared walkways, seating, planters, directories, railings, and escalator and elevator cabs. Food-court table lines, tray stations, and trash and recycling consolidation. In a mall these areas have to stay presentable while the property is full and the work stays invisible.

Exterior

Whatever sits on the outside of a center gets tracked in, which drives up the interior floor-care cost, so we treat the exterior as part of the same job rather than an add-on. Sidewalk sweeping and pressure washing, storefront windows and entrance washing, dumpster pads and corrals, cart corrals, cigarette urns, parking-lot litter policing, awnings, and loading docks.

Frequency of Service

Recommended cleaning frequency by area

Frequency tracks traffic. Here’s the rough shape of a retail schedule. We set the exact cadence per property during the site assessment.

Area or taskHow oftenWhat it covers
Sales floor, restrooms, and entrancesDaily, or every porter shiftThe customer-facing zones a shopper judges you by first.
High-touch surfacesMultiple times a day in a busy storeDoor handles, cart handles, checkout counters, and self-checkout kiosks.
Back-of-house and detail workWeeklyStockrooms, receiving, break rooms, and the detail cleaning that doesn’t need daily attention.
Floor stripping and high dustingMonthly to quarterlyVCT strip-and-wax, burnishing, and high dusting on a set cycle.
Carpet hot-water extractionAt least once a yearSooner in high-traffic entries, where dirt loads up fastest.

Why the cycle matters: routine upkeep on this kind of schedule is what keeps floors and fixtures from wearing out early. That’s a real line item when a VCT floor or an entrance carpet has to be replaced years ahead of schedule.

Important health codes

Floors, Slip Risk, and Health-Code Areas

Craddock’s Cleaning ensure compliance with the three compliance points come up on almost every retail property, and we build the cleaning around them.

Walking surfaces

A retail floor is a walking-working surface, which means it has to stay clean, and dry where feasible, with spills handled before they become a fall. That’s the standard OSHA sets for floors in a place of business, and our floor-care and spill-response schedule is built to it. Slip-and-fall is the most common liability event in a store, and a documented cleaning record supports your risk position when one happens.

Floor slip resistance

When you’re specifying or restoring hard floors in wet-prone zones like entrances and food courts, the current benchmark for slip resistance is ANSI A326.3, which sets a wet dynamic coefficient of friction of 0.42 for level interior floors walked on when wet. Worth knowing: that number is a comparison specification. It doesn’t guarantee no one will ever slip.

Food tenants

If your property includes a grocery, a food court, a cafe, or any prepared-food tenant, those spaces fall under the Texas Food Establishment Rules and get inspected. Our cleaning of food-adjacent common areas is built to support that inspection, with the same same-night documentation. We clean non-food surfaces and common areas; we don’t replace a food tenant’s own kitchen sanitation program.

Cleaning Documentation

Cleaning That Backs Up Your CAM Charges

If you manage a strip center or a multi-tenant property, your cleaning spend is more than an expense. It’s a Common Area Maintenance line you bill back to tenants, and at reconciliation those tenants push on it. A property manager who can show what was cleaned and when is in a stronger spot than one who can only point at an invoice. The initial facility assessment is a free on-site estimate used to tailor scope and documentation needs before you decide.

That’s where the documentation matters. Every Craddock’s visit gets inspected by a supervisor and logged the same night, with date, scope, and completion. You attach that to your CAM backup. When a tenant questions the common-area cleaning charge, you have a record instead of an argument.

The rest of the model fits the same way you run a property. We work month to month, no long-term contract, so we earn the next month by holding the standard this month. And you get a direct line to someone accountable. No dispatch center, no days-long wait for a call back. For the full picture of how we think about accountability, see why facility managers choose Craddock’s. Retail experience matters to your success when a manager has to defend scope, schedule, and CAM charges.

Schedule flexibility

Coverage That Matches Retail Hours

Most cleaning crews run one overnight shift and disappear. That leaves the property unattended through the exact hours it’s busiest, and it falls apart at the holidays when traffic doubles.

We schedule around each store’s individual open hours. Overnight deep work after hours where it fits, helping avoid disruption to retail operations, plus day-porter coverage during trading hours for spill response, restroom checks, and general tidiness while shoppers are in the building. We staff up for holiday surges instead of running the same fixed schedule into December. If your center runs extended hours in November and December, the cleaning scales with it.

Day porters also cover the exterior transition zones, entrances, walkways, food-court areas, and other high traffic areas, so the path a shopper takes from the parking lot to the door stays clean through the day. For a dedicated program, see our day porter services.

WHAT CLIENTS SAY

What Shopping Center & Retail Store Managers Say

I highly recommend Jeremy and his team of cleaning professionals for all your cleaning needs. Owning a restaurant where mopping the floors are not my team’s ‘specialty’, I needed someone to come in and do a deep clean. Craddock Cleaning worked on my timeframe, cleaned our floors thoroughly (even the corners!) and their price was very reasonable! Thank you!

★★★★★

Our Nature Center has been using Craddock’s Cleaning Service’s since March of 2023 and are very satisfied with their customer service, communication, and pricing!
The owner’s involvement in the cleaning processes and quality checks is what made their company stand out during the search for a new cleaning service. As a nature center, we provide a range of hybrid indoor/outdoor environmental educational programs and experiences that inevitably lead to a considerable amount of effort to clean.
Mr. Craddock and his team arrive promptly, are flexible with any last-minute changes to our service dates and are quick to correct any issues that may arise. They leave our nature center looking and smelling great! We recommend using this provider for both residential and commercial properties.
