Fitness Center Cleaning Services in Dallas–Fort Worth
A gym is one of the harder rooms we walk into, and the one place a member notices a missed bench before your front desk does. We clean it on a schedule built around your busiest hours, and we leave a signed record every night.

Dedicated Point of Contact
Named supervisor per facility, not a call center
In short:
Fitness center cleaning is the scheduled cleaning, disinfection, and documentation of gym equipment, locker rooms, showers, wet areas, and floors that keeps a facility safe, low-odor, and inspection-ready. Craddock’s Cleaning Services does this for gyms, studios, and recreation centers across the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. We hold disinfectant to its label contact time, treat wet-area odor at the source, match floor methods to rubber, turf, and hardwood, and leave a supervisor-signed digital log every visit through CleanProof. Crews run from our Lancaster and Arlington offices.
A wipe station isn’t a cleaning program
Here’s the part most gym owners never get told. Disinfectant labels are enforceable under federal pesticide law, and the label tells you how long a surface has to stay visibly wet for the product to do what the bottle claims. Depending on the product, that’s usually somewhere between one and ten minutes.
Now picture a vinyl bench in a warm weight room in July, wiped in four seconds by a member already thinking about his next set. It’s dry in under a minute. The bench looks clean. Nothing was disinfected.
We’re not against wipe stations. Keep them. They handle sweat, and sweat is what members actually complain about. But a facility that treats a wipe dispenser as its disinfection program is buying evaporation.
The CDC’s guidance for athletic facilities lands in the same place from a different direction. It tells operators to focus on the surfaces that touch bare skin every day, and it says plainly there’s little evidence that spraying or fogging whole rooms beats targeted cleaning of frequently touched surfaces. Half the cleaning companies in this market sell fogging as the premium upgrade. We’d rather spend that hour on the dumbbell handles.
Fitness center cleaning service Scope
Fitness Center Cleaning Services – Areas we clean, by zone
Five zones, because that’s how a fitness center actually breaks down and how the work gets scheduled. Frequency lives in the last one.
Zone 01
Equipment & skin-contact surfaces
- Cardio consoles, handrails, seat pads, grips, touchscreens, treadmill decks
- Dumbbell handles, barbells, collars, benches, upholstery seams
- Cable handles, pull-up bars, machine pads
- Mats, blocks, straps, foam rollers, medicine balls
Torn or cracked upholstery gets flagged in the log, not wiped over. A split seam can’t be disinfected, and CDC guidance says to repair or replace it.
Zone 02
Locker rooms, showers & wet areas
This is where your reviews get written.
- Tile, grout, shower pans, drain covers, and the drains themselves
- Benches, lockers inside and out, changing stalls
- Sinks, counters, fixtures, mirrors
- Soap, paper, and sanitizer restocked before they run out
- Sauna and steam room benches, doors, and floors on a set cadence
Odor gets treated at the drain and the grout line, where it lives. Air freshener is a cover story.
Zone 03
Floors, by what they’re made of
One building can hold four of these inside 6,000 square feet. Our floor cleaning crews match method to surface, because replacing a rubber floor two years early costs more than a decade of cleaning it right.
- Rubber – Holds sweat and rubber marks, and the wrong chemistry degrades it.
- Turf lanes – Mat down and trap infill and debris. Extraction, not a mop.
- Hardwood – Studio and court floors need moisture control, not a wet mop.
- Carpet – Cardio and lobby zones, hot-water extraction on a cycle.
- Sealed concrete – Garage-style boxes, dust and grime control.
Zone 04
Front of house
- Reception, retail shelves, water stations, juice bar
- Kids’ club area, restrooms, glass and mirrors
- Entry track-off mats, trash and recycling
Zone 05
Cadence
- Nightly service after close
- Peak-hour day porter coverage
- Weekly deep work in the wet areas
- Quarterly restorative floor work
Locker rooms and mats need frequency, and frequency is a scheduling decision, not a scope decision.
Skin-contact surfaces get their own pass
The CDC groups athletic facility surfaces by whether bare skin touches them, and it tells operators to review cleaning schedules directly with the janitorial staff. That’s a strange sentence to read as a cleaning contractor. It’s also correct.
So we treat skin-contact surfaces as a separate line item with its own frequency, its own product, and its own checkpoint. Handles, pads, mats, benches, sauna seating, shower benches. Not because they’re dirtier than a floor, but because staph and ringworm move through contact and floors mostly don’t move them. Our crews use products registered against staph and MRSA, applied for the contact time the label calls for.
We won’t name a disinfectant brand on this page. The right product depends on the pathogen you’re worried about, the surface it’s going on, and what the equipment manufacturer allows. A treadmill console isn’t a shower wall.

Jeremy and his team did an outstanding job cleaning out 4,300 SF yoga studio. He provided a fair price and did the job in a day. I would 100% hire him again for any deep cleaning needs.

Timing
Peak hours are when members judge you
Most gyms are cleaned once, after close. By 6pm the next day the trash is over, the mats are damp, and the men’s room is out of paper. The people forming an opinion of your facility at 6pm are seeing the worst version of it.
If your traffic curve has a real evening peak, an after-close-only schedule is the wrong schedule. Split-shift or midday porter coverage costs less than the churn it prevents. Retention math is unforgiving in this business, and cleanliness sits near the top of every cancellation survey we’ve been shown by a client.
Scope, drawn honestly
Fitness Center Areas we clean, by zone
Straight answer, because vendors in this category usually give a fuzzy one. We’d rather tell you this on a web page than in month two.
We handle
- Blood and bodily fluid cleanup on equipment, mats, and floors, under the federal bloodborne pathogens standard, with a written exposure control plan and proper protective gear
- OSHA housekeeping and sanitation for wet floors, waste, and restroom conditions
- Safety data sheets on site for everything we bring into your building
- Accessible routes, stalls, and showers kept usable while we work, which the ADA requires and almost nobody writes down
Stays with your operator
- Disposal of regulated medical waste, which goes through a licensed waste contractor
- Pool, spa, and whirlpool water treatment, testing, and the log the state health department can ask for. Texas assigns that to the pool operator
On the water side, we clean the decks, the surrounds, the locker rooms, the showers, and the outside surfaces of the spa. Anything in the water is your operator’s job.
CleanProof on every gym visit
CleanProof is the reason our clients stop checking behind us. Scope gets confirmed in writing, the crew gets briefed before they walk in, a supervisor inspects against the checklist instead of eyeballing the room, the digital log goes out the same night with timestamps, and anything flagged comes back to you closed rather than open.
For a fitness facility, that log is also the paper trail behind your equipment sanitation schedule.
